Student Presentations at Staff Meeting 11/3/15

Fremont students were invited to address a recent Staff meeting and gave some excellent  presentations about AVID class procedures and a proposed new Recycling Project for the school.

Ms. Castro's AVID class representatives did a short presentation about AVID and then met with small groups of teachers to demonstrate the way to use and set an AVID Notebook, using their own personal notebook as a model.  They also explained how being in AVID classes has helped them academically while answering all the teachers's questions.

Mr. Lopez  and Mr. Koch introduced a Project Based Learning (PBL) activity  about plastic pollution and the launching of a recycling program for the school. The 6th grade students from Mr. Lopez's class showed a power point and explained the steps needed to accomplish their goals.  Each class will get a recycling boxes to save plastic water bottles. The students will pick up the bottles once a week from each class. They are proposing having water dispensaries throughout campus and using reusable water bottles instead of the plastic bottle throwaways.

On our way to to make Fremont an environmentally conscious school!!

The following is the student power point that was shown at the Staff meeting and was then shown in Advisory classes.

The 6th grade presenters included:

The AVID students who presented to the teachers were Alma Garcia, Eddie Valenzuela, Luis Guerrero, Sasha SnobergerEva Gallegos, Ariana Ortiz, Giana Valenzuela, and Briana Roa,
