During the week of April 27th Fremont celebrated Earth Day with ASB running a Door Decorating Contest. The doors done were very creative and so nicely done it was very hard to choose just one winner , so two were chosen per class. ASB (Mr. Reveles- Advisor) chose the following winners:
6th grade- Ms. MacIntyre and Ms. Anderson
7th grade- Mr. Shiffman and Ms. Miranda
8th grade- Mr. White and Ms. Pompey
Congratulations to all the Winners!!
( Note: not all doors that won got their picture taken).
Ms. Zermeno's class is learning about Chinese civilization through the ancient art of papermaking. It can be a messy process, but with great results!
Pictured are the EXPERT GROUP of students from Ms. Zermeno's class. They are learning the process and then will be teaching it to the rest of the classes. A real example of students being in charge of their learning.

Ms. Castro's 8th grade class visited the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. They were learning about Executive Order #9066 & Japanese Internment Camps. Students toured the museum with docents that actually experienced living in the internment camps. They also received a lesson in Origami.
In 1942, the United States government ordered more than 110,000 men, women, and children to leave their homes and detained them in remote, military-style camps. Manzanar War Relocation Center was one of ten camps where Japanese American citizens and resident Japanese aliens were interned during World War II.
