WEB Play Day May 20,2016

The current 8th grade WEB Leaders and WEB Coordinators invited all possible future WEB Leader candidates  to WEB Play Day  last Friday.  They played some games and learned some strategies that will be taught to the incoming 6th graders in the fall.  A fun time was had by all playing games with balloons and straws including the famous One Left game.  Thirty- three new WEB Leaders were picked and will be  the new mentors for our incoming 6th grade class in the fall. They will hold an Orientation Day in August before school where they give tours of the school, teach some fun games and make our new 6th graders fell welcome to middle school.

One beautiful day last week  Ms. Farrell took her P.E.  class outside to work on their archery skills. They were pretty good and one student even hit 3 bulls eye's in a row!! 

Mr. Brown's 6th Class is Heating Up with Solar Ovens

Mr. Brown's 6th grade class has been working hard but having tons of fun, creating solar ovens that actually cook using the sun for power!! They have used many different things to build with including, sand,newspapers, mirrors, and even pellets for packages.  The ovens worked really well and they cooked all kinds of things including chicken and hot dogs.  greatJOB!!

Fun With Balloons

Mr. White and his 8th grade Science  classes are studying all the aspects of flight. they are working with balloons and making gliders to learn about flight. They recently made large  tissue paper balloons and launched them high over Oxnard. 

6th grade Welcome Evening

Mr. Brisbine and Ms. Ultreras  presented a welcome event for  the new incoming 6th graders and their parents last night.  They introduced some of our 6th grade teachers and went over all of the information that new students and their parents will need to know as they become middle schoolers. 

8th grade WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) leaders  and the Fremont Cheerleaders helped out by spreading some school spirit.
