A Beautiful Day for a Trip!
Ms. Anderson's 6th grade Science classes are participating in grant called Crossing the Channel with the University of Channel Islands. The students are learning all about Santa Barbara watershed and the impact of human activity on the coastal and marine ecosystems, becoming citizen scientist, and exploring our local area.
On the first trip of the program the classes went to Oxnard Beach. The students participated in a beach clean-up, monitored micro plastic debris, and learned how to collect and count sand crabs for scientific monitoring.
