OPP Summit Final Project Symposium and
Celebration
Some very lucky students and teachers got to join in a celebration at the Monterey Bay Aquarium as part of the Ocean Plastic Pollution Summit. Those invited had to take part in a student-led action project that reduces single-use plastic consumption. Fremont's project led by Mr. Koch and Mr. Lopez, collected all of the plastic bottle trash every week, donated the proceeds, counted how many bottles are collected each week, and used this information towards getting hydration stations around campus. We are planning for 2 water stations so far and the school campus is so much cleaner as a result!
The group got to have a tour of the Aquarium, listened to a speaker about plastics pollution,
and shared Fremont's project.
The smiles say it all------- A great time was had by everyone!!!!!
“This is one of the best days of my life. Thank you so
much!”
