Fremont Board Presentation: Recycling /Hydration stations

This week several students accompanied Mr. Koch , Mr. Lopez and Mr. Brisbine and presented to the Oxnard School Board  a request for Hydration Stations to be installed at Fremont. This request to the School Board is part of a larger school -wide effort in recycling and protecting our environment.  The students have been involved all year starting with a presentation at a  staff meeting in the fall of the problem, partnering and visiting the  Monterey Bay Aquarium, setting up a recycling program for water bottles on campus, counting , storing, and disposal of all those bottles, presentation of a weekly trophy to the class that collects the most bottles, research into what types of Hydration stations to use at Fremont to help replace the use of plastic water bottles, using the recycled bottle caps to make a mural, and culminating with the Board Presentation where each student voiced their concerns, They were AWESOME!!.  A tremendous amount of work on both the students and teachers has been done in this effort, The hopes are to continue this for years to come.
